I'm 10 weeks post op and managing fine. I live alone too. When I left hospital I was partially weight bearing so could pretty well manage most things with the help of some gadgets. It was good though to have friends and family visiting regularly as they saved the hassle of making food and would deal with the washing up and of course were good company.
Since I left hospital I started a website which does have a few pages on alternatives to hip replacement. Surgical and non-surgical. If you click on my name you will get taken to the site.
